We are pleased to invite rose enthusiasts and rose society members from around the world to register for the World Rose Convention 2009. Gain knowledge on the latest research available and exchange ideas with the many breeders, growers, retailers, authors, and hobbyists in attendance. And, of course, enjoy the many social events and tours on offer.
Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. is the Rose Convention Secretariat and has been appointed to manage the registration services.
Register online by clicking here. Online registration will allow you the opportunity to make changes and additions to your registration as needed until Sunday May 31, 2009. The online registration site also will have the most current information at all times.

The three day pass is valid from Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21, and the seven day pass is valid from Thursday, June 18 to Wednesday, June 24. To participate on any tours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (June 22 to 24), you need to register for the seven-day convention pass.
Exhibiting roses at the WFRS and ARS Rose Show is open to everyone! You do not have to be a member of a rose or garden society and you do not have to be registered for the World Rose Convention. There is no fee to exhibit roses at the WFRS and ARS Rose Show; however you do need to register. Details on how to register as a rose exhibitor will be available soon. Select from a variety of daily tours such as a Vancouver city tour, tours of private and public gardens and/or evening social events such as a First Nations dinner and Sunset Cruise dinner. Be sure not to miss the official opening event of the Convention on Friday, June 19th and the Farewell Dinner on Wednesday, June 24th. Depending on demand, multiple languages may be offered on the daily tours. Please indicate your language of preference when registering.

A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you register. If you submit a credit card payment, a receipt will be included. If you wish to pay by cheque, money order or wire transfer, an invoice will be sent to you. Once payment has been received, a receipt will either be emailed or mailed to you.
Those pre-registrants who do not pay their registration fee until they arrive on-site at the convention will be charged the on-site registration fee. All payments must be made in Canadian Dollars. Only credit card and cash payments will be accepted for on-site registrations.
The registration fee category is determined by when the payment is received. The registration fee categories are as follows:

The deadline for pre-convention registration is Sunday, May 31, 2009. Registrations will also be accepted on-site.
Convention: A refund less CA$100 will be made for cancellations up until December 31, 2008 and then a refund less CA $150 until February 27, 2009; as of February 28, 2009 no refund.
Tours and Social Events: A refund less CA$200 will be made for cancellations up to December 31, 2008 for the “Mountain and Valley” and “Vancouver Island Garden Experience” tours; as of January 1, 2009 no refund. A refund less CA$50 will be made for cancellations up to February 27, 2009 for daily tours and social events; as of February 28, 2009 no refund.
All cancellations and substitutions must be submitted in writing to the Convention Secretariat (Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc.). Substitutions are permitted until May 31, 2009.
All Convention venues are wheelchair accessible. If you require special assistance for any reason, please contact the Convention Secretariat with details and be sure to include your requirements during the registration process.
The Convention will ensure that all dietary requirements are accounted for at Convention Food and Beverage functions. Please identify your dietary requirements during the registration process so that we can make arrangements in advance.
Please note that the Convention has been designated as non-smoking. In Vancouver, smoking is not permitted by law in public buildings, on public transit, in shopping malls, and in most restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and casinos, including outdoor seating areas (such as cafe patios).

An important stipulation of the draw to name a rose is that to be awarded the prize, you have to book by October 15, 2008, and actually stay at the Westin Bayshore Hotel during the Convention.
